این قابلیت با تزریق یک کلرفیل به نام کلرین ای ۶ به کره چشم این مرد امکان پذیر شده است. این کلروفیل در چشم بسیاری از آبزیانی که در آب‌های عمیق دریا زندگی می کنند وجود دارد. از این ترکیب برای درمان عارضه شب کوری در بیماران هم استفاده می شود.
